Instagram fans, please stand up and raise a glass to this lovely, simple, addictive app (who is with me??)
This month I'm inspired by my iPhone and the potential of this little tool. I had a great conversation the other day with one of my students about her capping project and the subject of iPhoneography came up... (inspiration begins)....
Then last night, as Todd snored away and I remained hopelessly awake, I happened upone a site that discussed all the cool things you can do with Instagram, from making posters to creating Tumblr sites that literally do nothing but gather up your images like magic as you shoot them (inspiration grows). ...
Then, today, the sun shone, the breezes were unseasonably warm, and I thought, I need something new. Something fun this month other than the piles of work on my desk. But it needed to be simple.
So here it is: Instagram Februrary. Insta-ruary?? :) heh. Anyway, it's everyday life, but shot with my iPhone. At the end of the month, I'll do something with all the pictures. Maybe a poster. Not sure yet. I think I'll stick with one filter, too, for consistency... We'll see!
I've set up a Tumblr site (http://grouchyfish.tumblr.com) to hold the photos in case you want to follow the progress.
And if anyone decides to join in my Insta-ruary fun, let me know! :)

One other thing: I've had a few questions about the "jar of hearts" photo from a few days ago ~ thanks for the emails and comments! There is a simple tutorial here for how to make the heart bokeh (though in her picture, the heart is off center, and I really think it needs to be more centered -- mine was, anyway). To get the lights in the jar: I had two of those little battery powered necklaces from Christmas time (with the light-up bulbs) and stuck them in the jar. I put my daughter in a doorway where there was light flooding in from an open window, put my camera on manual focus, threw it out of focus and took a bunch of shots, hoping for the best! It was cool to try, and I love the results. Give it is shot (no pun intended) ~ it's fun!
